Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops bone-in,1-inch thick, fresh
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/3 cup chicken broth or water
  • ¼ cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch slurry optional, mixture of cornstarch and water (1:1 ratio)

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, garlic, chicken stock and soy sauce.
  • In an instant pot, add pork chops and pour sauce mixture on top.
  • Seal the lid and turn the steam valve to the sealing position.
  • Set to high pressure cook. Set the cooking time to 10 minutes for fresh bone-in pork chops. Adjust the time slightly if you cook boneless or frozen pork chops (see above).
  • The instant pot takes about 10 minutes to come to pressure first. Then it will take another 10 minutes to cook.
  • When it finishes cooking, it will take 10 more minutes for natural pressure release.
  • When the steam has escaped, slowly remove the lid and release any remaining pressure.
  • Remove pork chops to a serving platter.
  • Mix together ½ tablespoon cornstarch and ½ tablespoon water. Turn the Instant Pot on Sauté mode and add in the mixture.
  • Stir constantly and cook for 2-3 minutes until it thickens. Turn off the instant pot.
  • Serve your pork chops with the honey garlic sauce.

Notes

If you use frozen pork chops, add 3-5 more minutes of the cooking time
