Ingredients

Lo Mein

  • 1 pound raw shrimp 21-25 size, peeled, deveined and thawed
  • 8 oz lo mein noodles or spaghetti or linguini
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp garlic minced
  • 1 medium carrot shredded
  • 3 cups cabbage and celery slices
  • 1 tsp Asian sesame oil

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger

Instructions

  • Thaw your shrimp if they are still frozen and get vegetables ready.
  • Prepare the noodles according to the package directions.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar and ginger. Set aside.
  • Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and add vegetable oil.
  • Add minced garlic, sliced carrots, cabbage and celery to the pan. Stir fry for about 5 minutes until almost tender.
  • Add in the shrimp and stir fry another 2-3 minutes until they just turn pink.
  • Drain the noodles and add to the shrimp/vegetable mixture.
  • Toss together with the reserved sauce and finally the Asian sesame oil. Serve and enjoy!
