If you’re seeking the best white chocolate fudge, then look no further. The taste is sweet and chocolatey with cake batter accents.
The velvety smooth and creamy texture takes you to a dreamy place, melting in your mouth.
What I also love is that it’s a no-bake recipe that only takes 10 minutes to prepare, and is great to make with little helpers. You still need to let it chill for a few hours to solidify, but your prep time is just 15 minutes. Are you ready?
How to make cake batter fudge
To make cake batter fudge, pour the sweetened condensed milk, butter and white chocolate into the saucepan on medium heat to melt. You can either use white chocolate chips or white baking chocolate here.
Then whisk in the white cake mix and vanilla, stirring until it starts to bubble. This is important to make sure the cake mix dissolves, which helps the fudge to thicken later on.
The last step is adding the sprinkles, and kids will love to help out with this step. Stir half the sprinkles into the saucepan mixture, and the rest in the pan.
By the way, the best pan for this recipe is a 7 or 8 inch square cake pan like this one to get inch-thick pieces. If you are using a 9 or 10 inch pan, you may want to double the recipe.
The choice of sprinkles allows you to adapt this fudge recipe for different celebrations:
- Red and green sprinkles for a Christmas treat
- Red, white and blue sprinkles for Fourth of July or Memorial Day
- Orange and black sprinkles with candy eyeballs for Halloween
- Your loved one’s favorite color for a birthday, Mother’s Day or Father’s Day
So much fun! Regardless of the occasion, everyone just loves this fudge and it always disappears quickly. So it may be wise to double the recipe!

Ever since making this for my daughter’s bridal shower in 2020, I’m asked to make this for every possible occasion of family and friends. I used the written recipe, which called for 3/4 C white cake mix powder each time.
Today, for the first time, I watched the video, and it started 1/2 C white cake mix.
Anyway, I know it would simply have a bit different ratio of ingredients, and possibly texture. Just wondering which is accurate.
Hi Doreen, Thank you so much for sharing your experience with this recipe. It’s heartwarming to hear how well it worked out, and congrats all around!
Hi there! What a fantastic recipe. Was a real hit in my house!
Question. Could I use the same recipe foundation and substitute the white chocolate for salted caramel? (Obviously minus the sprinkles with walnuts and vanilla with salted caramel) by just curious would it effect the taste with the cake?
Was such an awesome recipe for setting and prep.
Let me know what you think! Thanks so much 🙂
Hi Erika, Thanks for your comment. You might be able to do that but I haven’t tried it, so hard to say for sure. Glad you enjoyed it and let me know if you try the substitution.
This recipe is amazing!! Super easy and so yummy. The cake mix gives it a great texture. I shipped from CO to FL and it didn’t melt (took 4 days and I froze it in a block overnight before shipping). I’m definitely saving this one!
Is this stable enough to be shipped? I tried to mail my bestie a birthday treat every year, from California to Colorado, and I think she’d love this. Do you think it’s feasible?
Hi Mon, What a great idea! The fudge is somewhat shelf-stable but risks melting in the heat of summer. Maybe you could add freezer packs and use 1-2 day delivery… just brainstorming although check with your shipper. Fingers crossed! 🙂
This was reallly good my child really liked
Hi Jessica, So happy to hear that – thanks for letting me know! 🙂
I followed the recipe but now that I need to cut it, it’s very soft and won’t cut??
Hi GK, Thanks for your comment. Usually it’s because it’s not chilled enough or didn’t thicken. You can try 30 minutes in the freezer to firm up.
DOES this fudge have to be refrigerated AFTER its set…. like if you were going to put it in with cookies as a gift???? Ty
Hi Chris, Store in a cool dry place, but doesn’t need to be refrigerated unless it’s the heat of summer. Hope that helps!
Can i use red velvet cake mix?
Hi Kay, Yes you can use any flavor of cake mix you like, although the fudge color will be different as well 🙂
Is there a way to make this without using cake mix? Like completely from scratch?
Hi Laura, Sure you can try https://tipbuzz.com/peanut-butter-cup-fudge/ without the peanut butter cups. It’s basically chocolate chips with sweetened condensed milk. But no cake batter flavors 🙁 Hope you try it
Can’t wait to try it! How many recipes can you get out of a box of cake mix? otherwise what is everyone doing with the rest of the cake mix?
Can’t wait to try! How many recipes can you get out of one box of cake mix? otherwise, what is everyone doing with the rest of the cake mix?
Thanks Patty, It’s only about 1/4 of a box, so you can still bake a cake with the leftover. Just dial down the other ingredients listed on the box by 1/4. Enjoy! 🙂
I just tried doing this but the mixture burned a little on the bottom of the pot and made little bits of brown stuff in the mix. :/ the burner wasn’t even that hot. it was at medium like the instructions said. Aww. 🙁 still cooling it off, but hopefully it tastes good
I’ve made mine and it’s been in the fridge for 2 hours and 20 mins and it’s still not set! 😭
Easy to follow recipe and step by step guide for instructions. Can’t wait to try this with my grandchildren.
Thanks Kerry – let me know how it goes 🙂
Can this be made in the microwave
Yes, you can. Place the mixture of condensed milk, white chocolate chips in a large microwave-safe bowl, microwave in 20-second intervals until smooth. Then add cake mix and vanilla extract, heat in microwave for 1 or 2 minutes. Stir immediately when it comes out.
Yum
That is good food thank you bluegrass dot-dot……?
The recipe says 3/4 cup cake mix, but the video says 1/2 cup cake mix. which one is the correct amount?
Hi Leah, 3/4 cup is the correct amount – sorry about that and enjoy!
I made this last night and it won’t firm up enough for me to even cut it! It’s super sticky and I followed the recipe/instructions! ;( where could I have gone wrong?!
Hi Chelsea, Thanks for your comment. Not quite sure what happened, did you refrigerate it to set?
It says prep time is 5 minutes and cook time is 5 minutes.. so how is total time 2 hours & 10 minutes??
Hi Sage, the fudge has to chill for two hours to firm up, so there’s passive time built into the total. Hope that helps 🙂
Can not wait to try this fudge!! I absolutely love white chocolate and fudge so this should be amazing!! Where is the video??
Hi Joyce, Thanks so much, and the video is right about the recipe in the post or you can view on YouTube https://youtu.be/j_9SIpA6Xpo 🙂
Do you think that this can be poured into little candy molds to set quick? Would it pop out as easily as plain chocolate if frozen?
Hi Samantha, It’s pretty sticky fudge, so wouldn’t expect it to pop out. If the molds are flexible, it might work 🙂 Good luck!
If using chocolate cake mix use chocolate chips instead of white.
Hi I was wondering can I use chocolate cake mix or does it have to be white
Hi Olivia, you can use chocolate, just beware the fudge will have a light brown color… Enjoy 🙂
You can try regular chocolate chips instead of white
I love a good 10-minute recipe! This is so festive and fun!
Thanks Melissa!
Could I use confetti cake mix and skip the sprinkles?
Yes but there isn’t much confetti in a 1/2 cup of confetti mix, so best to add in sprinkles separately as well 🙂
How long does this keep for? I want to make for family but wont be seeing them until New Year. Thanks
Hi Katy, good news is that it keeps for two weeks in an airtight container in the fridge 🙂 Happy holidays!
Can this be prepared ahead and frozen? Thank you!
Absolutely, just seal it up tight in a ziptop bag 🙂
So Good !!
Hi there I am from SA please tell me in grams the condensed milk quantity.
Regards Sabrina
Sure Sabrina it’s 300mL or about 400 grams. Hope that helps!
What is white cake mix?
It’s any mix used to make a white cake, such as a vanilla cake. Easy to find in supermarkets or online 🙂
Cool
So easy and tasty. I added a little extra cake mix to thicken it more and set faster.
Thanks Amber!
hi I love it
By chance have you used any other flavor cake mix? I was thinking strawberry for Valentine’s.
